Wow! I completely forgot that I started this blog back in 2009. My how time flies when you are surrounded by attention fiends otherwise known as children.
My oldest daughter is now 3.5, my youngest daughter is 2.5, and my stepdaughter is an incredible 11.5 now. I can not believe how much they have all grown over the past couple years.
With the new year I am resolving to write in this thing, and hopefully figure out how to get someone to read it. I really don't want to innundate all my friends on Facebook with endless requests to come view my blog though, so maybe I'll just write to myself.

My First Post
I've decided to start a blog to chronicle my day to day thoughts and feelings about being a mother. I've never written a blog before, so bear with my while I try to figure this out.
A Little About Me
I am a stay at home mom to two girls ages 3 months and 18 months. I've been married to the love of my life for three and a half years. Most days we are happily married, but like all couples, we have our moments. I am a grad student at our local university working on my MS in Geology. I've barely started it and have to get some background classes out of the way because my undergrad degree is in physics. I am trying to work it around being a mother and my goal is to have it completed by the time my youngest enters kindergarten.
My Parenting Philosophy
I'm pretty much your average joe mom. I'm not too crunchy, but I suppose I'm not super soft either.
I use disposable diapers, but I admire and support any mother who uses cloth diapers. In all honesty, I am too lazy to deal with laundering them. Plus, there is the general ick-factor that I just can't get over.
I co-sleep with my youngest, but not by choice. I just can't get her to sleep any other way.
I use the CIO method, but at the same time I'm not a huge fan of it. For my oldest, it was the only way to get her to go to sleep on her own. I would have loved to use a modified method, but any time I stepped foot in her room, she went berserk. Ultimately, I did what worked.
I vaccinate, but I am leary of vaccines. I would ideally use a delayed schedule but so far I haven't had the time to research every little detail. Plus, my husband prefers them to be vaccinated on schedule, so we more or less stick to it.
I use store bought baby food, cheap toys from Target, and even employ the TV from time to time. All in all, I am a typical mom. I fully support moms who choose to do things differently from myself. We are all doing the best we can to raise our darling children to be happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. What works for me personally may ot work for someone else and vice versa.
I hope someone will join me as write about my journey through this amazing thing called motherhood.
